Firm rules as of How we source this
Prop firms with a static max drawdown
A static max drawdown is a fixed floor: the initial account size minus the drawdown percentage. It never moves, however much profit you make.
Prop firms with a trailing max drawdown
A trailing max drawdown follows your highest equity or closed balance upwards by a fixed amount. Some firms stop it once it reaches the starting balance.
Prop firms with an end-of-day trailing drawdown
An end-of-day trailing drawdown only moves up with your balance at the end of each trading day, so profits made and given back within a day do not raise the floor.
Prop firm plans with no daily loss limit
These plans have no daily loss limit; only the overall max drawdown applies.
Instant accounts (no challenge)
Instant accounts skip the evaluation: you trade the funded account from the start, usually with tighter drawdown and a higher fee.
One-step challenges
A one-step challenge has a single evaluation phase before the funded account.
Two-step challenges
A two-step challenge has two evaluation phases, usually a higher target first and a lower one second, before the funded account.
News trading rules by firm
Some firms restrict trading around high-impact news. These are the plans where a news rule is recorded on this site, with the rule in our words.
Consistency rules by firm
A consistency (or best day) rule limits how much of your total profit can come from a single day, usually before a reward can be paid.
